Hi, I’m Ryan. I help maintain a website and app called Pinball Map. For the past 15 years we’ve been offering a user-updated map of venues with pinball. Right now, the site is listing over 8,000 locations and over 35,000 pinball machines.
Every week, we add somewhere between 40 - 90 (give or take) new locations - all submitted to us by people like you! Thank you.

But with all these new locations, how can one (i.e. you) keep up? Well, we made a pinball location randomizer twitterbot, but what if you (i.e. one) want something that’s less random and practically useless? We thought we’d take to Kineticist, the news-breaking and thought-leading pinball website, to highlight some of the notable new spots! These venues might not necessarily be newly-opened businesses, but they are new to us - and may be new to you, depending on who you are and what you know. We’re hoping to make this a regular monthly segment on Kineticist. We have a lot of good news to share!
What makes a place notable? SImple: they have from a decent amount to a lot of pinball machines. Today’s list spans a variety of business types, from movie theaters to antique shops to restaurants to bars and to/from arcades. The focus here is on the NorAm market. I haven’t actually been to any of these places! And please don’t get mad when I seemingly belittle a village by highlighting that it’s a lil’ burg outside of a known metropolis.
Brewhalla and Drekker Brewing Company (Fargo, ND)

Brewhalla is a complex in Fargo, North Dakota, containing an indoor market with more than a dozen shops, plus a hotel, a brewery, and an event space. The brewery, Drekker Brewing Company, has been listing 10 pinball machines for a little bit now, but the event space just added 11 more! Looks like a really fun place.
Rezzanine Esports (Bridgeville, PA)

Rezzanine Esports is located in the mezzanine of the Phoenix Theatres in Bridgeville near Pittsburgh. They have 14 pinball machines! You do not need a rezzavation to play here, but you might need a movie ticket? I guess a movie ticket is kind of like a reservation when you think about it.
Super Champ (Beaverton, OR)

Super Champ is a new arcade in Beaverton, an excellent suburb of Portland, Oregon. They have 10 pinball machines, plus pizza and beer. Really cool website, too. Machines are operated by the same folks who run Wedgehead in Portland!
Coin-Op Co-Op (Escondido, CA)

Citizens of Escondido, Coin-Op Co-Op needs your love and your deep thoughts to help them clear their permitting and properly open. Right now they are semi-open and you can visit by appointment (or by booking an event?). Once the permitting is all cleared they will have regular hours. They have 21 pinball machines and are in sunny Southern California (north of San Diego and a little bit inland).
The Speakeasy Arcade (Olney, IL)

The Speakeasy Arcade is only apparently open one day a week, but it’s the best day: Saturday. There’s an entry fee to enter, and the 30 pinball machines are on free play. I’ve been told that Olney is kind of in the middle of nowhere (no offense) - but now it’s on the map! Support your far-flung arcade!
Chillicothe Antique Emporium (Chillicothe, OH)

We at the map are sometimes a little skeptical of antique malls. Oftentimes the machines are not functional and then the map entry never gets updated. However, Chillicothe Antique Emporium has 16 pinball machines, and most are from the mid to late ‘70s. So it feels like they’re going for something and not just stuffing a machine in a corner and covering it with old clothes. We have some confidence that this is in fact a cool place to visit. Chillicothe is in Ohio straight south of Columbus.
RC3’s Arcade (Township, OH)

RC3’s Arcade is a little bit outside of Youngstown, Ohio. They have almost no internet presence, but they do have 9 pinball machines. I don’t know what else to say except why are you not here right now? I guess I will also add that this is an unusual street name.
Flip Off Arcade (Puyallup, WA)

Flip Off Arcade opened in early April. No internet presence (aside from many wonderful mapping sites that provide them free advertising). 20 pinball machines! Puyallup is just outside of Tacoma, Washington. Looks like a good place to stop at when you’re traveling from Portland to Olympia to Puyallup to Tacoma to Seattle to Everett to Bellingham and then straight on through to Vancouver.
Poncho & Lefty's (Beckley, WV)

Poncho & Lefty’s is a Mexican restaurant in Beckley, West Virginia, with 8 pinball machines! The food looks delicious. I like when restaurants have machines. It makes it easy to power up before a long sesh.
Just the Tap (Seattle, WA)

Just the Tap is a new brewpub in Belltown, Seattle. All ages. They have 13 pinball machines. These seem to be springing up more: self-pouring beer taps. I’m intrigued. Are self-pouring machines cool, or are they actually robots pushing bartenders out of a job?

According to the web, entry fee for Pinball Long Island is $20, or $10 for kids under 10. Go go go!
Axecadia (Lapeer, MI)

Have you ever yearned to huck an axe at a stationary object? I hadn’t, until I learned about axe throwing places, and now I have. Axecadia has 11 pinball machines, and also a lounge for lounging in after throwing your axe. They’re located in Lapeer, Michigan, just north of Detroit. Someone should open up a bar in this city called Labeer Lapeer.
