Beastie Boys

The Beastie Boys, a trio comprised of Michael "Mike D" Diamond, Adam "MCA" Yauch, and Adam "Ad-Rock" Horovitz, emerged in the mid-1980s from the New York City punk scene and quickly became a significant force in the burgeoning field of hip-hop. Known for their rambunctious energy, playful lyrics, and genre-blending sound, the Beastie Boys were among the first white artists to achieve widespread success in hip-hop, effectively breaking racial barriers in the genre and helping to bring it into the mainstream consciousness.
