Slayer

Slayer, formed in 1981 by guitarists Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman, is one of the "Big Four" thrash metal bands, alongside Metallica, Megadeth, and Anthrax. Known for their blistering speed, aggressive guitar riffs, and brutal lyrics, Slayer played a pivotal role in shaping the thrash metal genre. The band’s music is characterized by fast-paced, intricate guitar work, pounding drums, and intense, often controversial themes including death, war, and the occult, which have both attracted and alienated listeners.

Their 1986 album Reign in Blood is widely regarded as a masterpiece of thrash metal, featuring tracks like "Angel of Death" and "Raining Blood." Produced by Rick Rubin, the album is noted for its relentless speed, ferocity, and its ability to push the boundaries of what metal could express, both musically and lyrically. Despite its controversy, particularly surrounding its lyrical content, Reign in Blood solidified Slayer’s place as one of the most important metal bands of all time.

Over the years, Slayer maintained a dedicated fanbase through their uncompromising approach to music, releasing several critically acclaimed albums such as South of Heaven (1988), Seasons in the Abyss (1990), and God Hates Us All (2001).
