Stern Electronics

Stern Electronics

Stern Electronics was formed in 1977 when the Stern family acquired the assets of Chicago Coin. During the early 1980s, the company produced popular arcade video games like Berzerk but ceased operations in the amusement industry in 1985. After Stern Electronics' closure, some personnel, including Gary Stern, formed Pinstar, which specialized in conversion kits. Gary Stern's journey in the pinball industry continued as he became involved with Data East Pinball, a company that later evolved into Sega Pinball. Eventually, this would lead to the formation of Stern Pinball, Inc., which continues operations today.
