Could ThunderCats Be the Next Great Pinball Machine Theme?

The '80s were a time of great pinball machine themes. From classic movies like Star Wars to cartoon franchises like Godzilla, there was a pinball machine for everyone. But one franchise that never got the pinball machine treatment was ThunderCats.

That could all change, however, as there is plenty of pinball fan demand for a new ThunderCats themed machine.

Here's why we think it could work.

Reason 1: The Characters are Iconic

One of the most important elements of any good pinball machine is having iconic characters that players will recognize and want to play as. And when it comes to iconic characters, ThunderCats has them in spades. From Lion-O and Cheetara to Mumm-Ra and Snarf, there are endless possibilities for who could be featured on the game's playfield. Just imagine trying to defeat Mumm-Ra with the power of the Eye of Thundara!

Reason 2: The Setting is Exciting

Another important aspect of any good pinball machine is an exciting setting that encourages exploration. And what could be more exciting than Third Earth, home of the ThunderCats? Players would have the opportunity to visit different areas of the planet, from the Forbidden Anvil Mine to Mumm-Ra's tomb. Plus, with all of the different enemies that the ThunderCats have faced over the years, there would be no shortage of baddies to battle.

Reason 3: The Music Would Be Awesome

Last but not least, one of the things that can really make or break a pinball machine is its soundtrack. Fortunately, this is an area where ThunderCats would excel. With an iconic theme song and loads of other great tunes from the cartoon, there would be plenty of great music to choose from for a ThunderCats pinball machine. Just imagine hearing that opening theme song as you start up a game!

Could a ThunderCats pinball machine be successful? It's hard to say for sure. But with iconic characters, an exciting setting, and great music, it definitely has potential. Only time will tell if we'll ever see a Lion-O themed pinball machine in arcades—but here's hoping!
