Looking for a nice spot to play pinball in San Antonio, Texas is a bit like searching for your bike in the basement of the Alamo. We checked every arcade in town, found lots of fun games, and finally scouted out San Antonio’s best pinball collections – they just weren’t where we expected.

The Dave & Busters in the Rivercenter Mall is a great choice for date night, but there’s no pinball in this modern chain arcade.

Parents in San Antonio hold their kid’s birthday parties at Main Event Entertainment – a sprawling arcade complex in the heart of the city with timeless classics like Pac-Man and Street Fighter, tons of ticket redemption games, and immersive multiplayer experiences like laser tag and bowling – but there’s no pinball here either.

The Magic Time Machine is an entertaining dining experience in the heart of the historic Alamo Heights neighborhood where diners are greeted by costumed characters and immersed in a captivating atmosphere that harkens back to eras long gone, from knights in shining armor to Victorian ladies. Sure, there is a fun arcade in there! But where is the pinball?
