Stampede / Rawhide Rules

Rawhide

Quickie Version:

UTAD via the spinner.

Go-to Flipper:

Left

Risk Index:

Very High except the spinners

Skillshot(s):

Get the ball in the top saucer. Ideally, you want it lit for double bonus when it goes in, so you may want the ball to hit the top button once or twice first to change the saucer value. As you’ll see by the lights below the lower (center) saucer, they can also award lighting the spinners and bumpers, lighting the saucers for 5K or lighting one outlane for an extra ball lane if enabled.

Full Rules:

Rawhide came out just as Chicago Coin was being sold to Stern; you might see it under either name. Bonus is built by the return lanes, outlanes and the three small rollover buttons, the one at the very top and two others a few inches above the flippers. Base bonus goes up to 19K. Getting double bonus involves a bit of luck since you need to have “lites double bonus” on when you make either saucer shot. The catch is, any shot to change the saucer value may rebound and change it again before you get the ball back on a flipper. The strategy here is up top via the spinner until you collect each of the different saucer values at the top hole. Keep that up until your bonus is maximized. Even then, stay with it since one good lit spinner shot plus random points up top is worth far more than the captive ball or any of the standup targets.
